Hello again! I had time to play around with something that has been going through my head for a while – stamping and metallic heat embossing with the Perfect Peacock stamp, on Basic Black cardstock. Done right, it can look very effective and oh so classy ;)
Today’s card was a very simple design, but I wanted to let the Perfect Peacock take centre stage, because it’s such an elegant stamp.
The card base was a sheet of A4 Basic Black cardstock, cut in half lengthways. I then stamped the peacock with Versamark on a 14.2 x 10.2cm piece of Basic Black cardstock. This was then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.
This was then adhered to the card base, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. On a small banner of Basic Black, I stamped the words ‘Love’ and ‘You’ from Crazy About You, in Versamark; and also heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.
The inside of the card and the corner of the envelope were also stamped and heat embossed; however, I only stamped the smallest amount of detail – the flowers on the branch below the peacock.
A few Gold Sequins (from the roll of trim) finished the card off.
I enjoyed this technique so much, that I also did one with Silver embossing powder, and some sequins from the Silver Sequin Trim.
I hope I’ve inspired you to give this technique a go. ‘Til next time x
