CASE. Have you heard of the term? It means Copy-And-Share-Everything. There’s no harm in CASE-ing a design you love. If you do copy a design identically, just remember to pay credit to the original source ;)

On Friday night, my husband took our daughter to a movie, so I had some time to myself to sit down and CASE some designs that took my fancy in the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue.

Here are some designs I played around with:

Inspired by the bottom left card design on Page 16 – My version was slightly altered, but still retained the vintage look with Typeset Designer Series Paper. I cut an edge into the DSP, by using my Apothecary Accents Framelits, which are retired. You could also cut a nice edge with Deco Labels, or Lots Of Labels Framelits.
The Butterfly Basics flower stamp was stamped with Mint Macaron ink, and the Happy Birthday was stamped with Basic Gray ink. I also added a small strip of Mint Macaron cardstock, and some Basic Pearls.

These cards were inspired by the card design on the bottom left of Page 35. I kept the Honeycomb embossed background, banner, cross, and trio of flowers, punched with the Itty Bitty Accents flower punch. Blushing Bride cardstock was used for the girl card; and Soft Sky was used for the boy card.
I changed it a little by using Sahara Sand Lace Trim and cardstock; and set the layout further down the card.

This one was inspired by the bottom right design on Page 20. I changed the layout slightly, and used Tip Top Taupe, Real Red & Memento Black as my main colours.
I punched a negative space in my top layer, and placed the stamped tiger stripe heart behind. The card was finished off with some small Red Glimmer hearts, from the Itty Bitty Accents and Owl Builder punches.

I hope I’ve inspired you to have a go at CASE-ing the catty. Pick a design, think about what elements you could alter, and go for it! I’d love to see your creations, so use the hashtag #MSHCaseTheCatty if you upload your creation to Pinterest :)
