Hello again! It’s been awhile since my last post, so I’m popping in to show you what we made in my card class this week. This week’s class was a showcase of the gorgeous Floral Boutique suite.
We made 3 cards in this class. For the first card, I used one of Stampin’ Up!’s designs from the Annual Catalogue, as inspiration. We used a card base of Night Of Navy cardstock. A layer of DSP from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper was glued to the card front.
On a piece of Whisper White card, we stamped the floral stamp from Floral Phrases twice, using Night Of Navy ink. One stamp was the right way up: the other was upside down, so the two images met.
A banner of Whisper White was stamped with a sentiment from Floral Phrases, using Night Of Navy ink; and mounted on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Inside the card, it was stamped with the floral stamp in the bottom-left corner, and a sentiment.
The card was finished off with sequins and Basic Rhinestones. Here it is:
For the second card, I took inspiration from Teri Pocock‘s design. This card design is so simplistic, but packs an elegant punch due to the ‘WOW’ factor of the Thinit die :D
We used a card base of Whisper White. Using the Detailed Floral Thinlits dies, we cut a 14×10.2cm card front out of Night Of Navy ink. The edges were trimmed off using the accompanying Edgelit die. You need to cut the Detailed Floral die on the Steel Precision Plate; but I swapped over the a standard cutting pad when using the Edgelit, so I didn’t cause damage to it.
On the center of the card front, we stamped a sentiment with Versamark, and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
The card front was then glued in place by dotting glue around the edges on the back, and then smoothed down with a bone folder when glued to the card. Inside the card, we stamped a sentiment, and behind the sentiment, we stamped the floral image again – but stamped off on Grid Paper 3 times before stamping on the card, so it was a fainter image.
A strand of Silver Ribbon was tied around the card front, and some Basic Rhinestones finished off the card. Here it is:
For the last card, I drew inspiration from Melissa Davies. We used a card base of Night Of Navy, and this was stamped on the front with the floral stamp from Floral Phrases twice, using Whisper White Craft ink. Once dry, it gives a nice chalkboard effect.
A few loops of Silver Metallic Thread were adhered over the floral image. A banner of Floral Boutique DSP was glued in place over the floral stamp, followed by a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. A banner of Whisper White, stamped with a sentiment from Floral Phrases, was held in place over the DSP and Glimmer Paper using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Inside the card, we stamped the long border image from Floral Phrases.
Basic Rhinestones and sequins finished off the card. Here it is:
Thank you for popping in to check out my creations. I hope you will leave feeling inspired to create with this gorgeous suite. ‘Til next time x
