Hello again! I’m popping in to show a cute little card I created for an upcoming ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ window display at The Handmade Marketplace. The Handmade Marketplace is full of wonderful, locally handmade products from local artisans. I volunteer my Thursday mornings to help run it, and I sell my cards and papergifts within the store. You can find the Marketplace at 58 Prince Street in Busselton :)
For my card, I used a base of Emerald Envy cardstock. This was punched on the sides with a 1/8″ handheld punch, to resemble caterpillar chew marks. A little sponging with Emerald Envy added to the effect.
For the caterpillar, I used Cucumber Crush, Garden Green, and Emerald Envy card, punched in 1″ circles. The face was a 1-1/4″ circle of Real Red. The eyes were punched from Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush card, using the Owl Builder punch. The mouth was Basic Black card, punched with a 1/8″ handheld punch. The antennae were cut from Wisteria Wonder card using the little spoon die from Frozen Treats Framelits. For the caterpillar’s feet, I used Soft Suede card, and used the tree branches from the Tree Builder punch.
The card front of Whisper White was stamped with a sentiment from Better Together, using Memento Black ink; and the card inner was stamped with a matching sentiment. The inside of the card was finished off with an apple cut from Real red card using the Tree Builder punch.
The envelope was stamped with the circle image from Work Of Art, and I used Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Emerald Envy, Wisteria Wonder, and Fresh Fig inks for a dotty watercoloured effect. I finished the card off with Black Rhinestones.
Thank you for popping in to check out my creation – you can find this cute little guy for sale at The Handmade Marketplace this coming week! ‘Til next time x
