Hello again! Welcome back to another fortnightly class catch-up! This fortnight, we played with the Nailed It stamp set, and co-ordinating Build It Framelits. Unfortunately, I organised my class schedule before I knew this great bundle was retiring, so this bundle is now sold out – boo! :(

Occ17_p048bFor the first card, we used a card base of Basic Gray cardstock. This was stamped with the nails image using Archival Basic Gray, and layered with some paper from the Urban Underground Design Series Paper pack. This paper was stamped and heat embossed with the nailhead image, using Versamark and Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A few strips of matching DSP were then glued to the card, and a banner of Delightful Dijon cardstock was stamped with a sentiment using Memento Black. This was sponged around the edges with Delightful Dijon ink to add a rustic touch. A few loops of Black Metallic Twine were held in place with a Glue Dot, and the Delightful Dijon banner was stuck on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The edges of all the papers were curled slightly for texture.

IMG_1544On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, we stamped a hammer with Memento Black, and very lightly applied colour using Blender Pens, Smoky Slate & Daffodil Delight watercolor pencils. Be careful not to blend the colour too much, or the cardstock will start pilling. This was then cut with the co-ordinating Framelits, and then stuck to the card with Dimensionals. Here’s the finished card:

A second layer of Whisper White card was stamped all over with the saw image using Smoky Slate ink, then splattered with ink from a Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker.

IMG_1551Using the hexagonal Framelit, we cut a hexagon from Basic Gray card, and stamped and heat embossed it with a sentiment; using Versamark and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A few loops of Silver Cording Trim were held in place on the card front with a Glue Dot, and the hexagon was held in place with a few Dimensionals. Two hearts punched from Real Red card (and given some character lines with a Chalk Marker), finished the card off. Here it is:

IMG_1545inbetween lineFor the final card, we used a card base of thick Whisper White. This was flicked with ink from a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker. Using the ruler Framelit, we embossed some Silver Foil and layered that on the card base with some Whisper White seam binding ribbon that had been dyed with Melon Mambo ink, and dried with the Heat Tool.

A hammer, screwdriver, and spanner were stamped on Watercolor Paper with Archival Basic Black, and watercoloured with Melon Mambo and Smoky Slate inks. A small circle was cut from Whisper White using Stitched Shapes Framelits, and the tools were diecut and glued to this circle. The circle was then stuck to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Under the circle was a few loops of Silver Metallic Twine.

IMG_1558A banner of Basic Black was stamped and heat embossed with a sentiment, and the card was finished off with sequins and rhinestones. Here it is:
