Hello again! I’ve been a bit naughty.
I’ve been pro-craft-inating and putting off completing a project that I started a good 6 months ago. But today, I told myself, no more excuses!
This project was inspired by the gorgeous butterfly wall art that Stampin’ Up! South Pacific have on their office wall in NSW (hope you don’t mind me using your photo, Donna & Lynette!). It is just a stunning piece of work, and I wanted to replicate it. Due to living in a rental though, I couldn’t stick the butterflies straight on the wall; so instead, I’m using a very large stretched canvas from Spotlight.
The canvas needed some oomph, so I gave it a few coats of Dulux Design Pearl effect paint. The lustre that this paint gives is stunning – almost like Wink Of Stella! ;)
Using a bread plate, a cup saucer, and a small rammekin as guides, I hot glued my butterflies of various sizes, cut using the retired Butterfly Embosslits; onto my canvas. I wanted an ombre effect, so I used Blackberry Bliss, Elegant Eggplant, and Perfect Plum cardstock.
And here’s the finished result:
Thanks for popping in and checking out my blog! I hope I have left you inspired to create your own butterfly wall art. ‘Til next time x
