Hello again! I’ve been quiet for awhile haven’t I? Well, I thought I’d pop in and show you all what we made in card class this week.
In Australia, Father’s Day is the first Sunday of September – this year it’s the 6th of September. Using Guy Greetings (my most favourite ‘manly’ set this year!), we created a bold, striking Father’s Day card, and matching Mini Treat bag.
For the card, we started with a card base of Basic Black, cut lengthways at 10.5cm width, from an A4 sheet. A layer of Typeset DSP cut to 14.5×10.2cm was adhered on the front of the card. A smaller strip, cut at 10.2x1cm was adhered to a slightly larger piece of Basic Black. This was adhered to the card inner, which was Very Vanilla, cut to 14.5×10.2cm. The card inner was then stuck inside the card. The ‘To A Classic’ stamp was stamped inside the card with Memento Black.
On the front of the card, was a piece of Very Vanilla, cut to 7.5×9.5cm. This was matted on a slightly larger piece of Basic Black, and stamped with the ‘Happy Father’s Day’ stamp using Memento Black. This piece was then stuck down with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the card front.
The vintage car stamp was stamped onto Very Vanilla with Memento Black, and coloured using Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers. This was then cut out using the 2-1/4″ Circle Framelit, and matted on a 2-1/2″ circle of Basic Black card. This was also stuck down using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The car was also stamped and coloured on the envelope.
A strip of Basic Black 3/8″ Satin Ribbon (this is retired product, but you may be able to find it on this Facebook group) was tied around the card front in a more ‘manly’ bow ;)
Here’s the finished card:

I hope I’ve inspired you with some ideas for Father’s Day. ‘Til next time x
