Hello again! Just popping in to show you what we made in card class this fortnight, using the Rose Garden Thinlits dies.
Being inspired by stained glass windows, I had seen this die used for just that purpose. I knew one of the cards we were going to make, would pay homage to one of my favourite Disney movies – Beauty & The Beast ;)
For the first card, we used a card base of Basic Black, and layered a card front of Whisper White cardstock ontop. The large rose die was used to cut out the surrounds and inserts for the ‘stained glass’. We used Basic Black for the rose and leaf surrounds, Old Olive and Garden Green for the leaves; and Flirty Flamingo and Watermelon Wonder for the rose. The flower surround was glued into place, and like a jigsaw, the inner pieces were glued into the surrounds. Mixing up the colours used, gives a nice depth of dimension!
The card was finished off with a sentiment stamped in Memento Black, a few Metallic Sequins and Basic Rhinestones…and some Wink Of Stella on the rose! :D
For the second card, we used a card base of Whisper White. The card front was stamped with the scroll stamp from Timeless Textures, using Smoky Slate ink.
Using the smaller rose and leaves dies, we cut the surrounds using Silver Glimmer Paper, and the inner bits using Whisper White cardstock. The leaves were then glued into place on the card; and the rose dies was glued onto a piece of Whisper White card; then filled in with the inner pieces. A few loops of Silver Metallic Thread was held in place on the card with a Glue Dot; and the rose was then adhered above using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment (from Blessed By God) was stamped with Versamark on the bottom left corner of the card, and heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A few sequins and rhinestones finished off the card nicely:
Thanks for stopping by to check out our projects – I hope you’ll give this technique a go to! ‘Til next time x
