Hello again! Just popping in to show you what we made in card class this week, using the Shooting Star stamp set and matching Sliding Star Framelits.
We made two cards in this class – one using the circle sliding track, and one using the curvy track. For the first card, we used a card base of Whisper White, and sponged Daffodil Delight ink over the corners of a card front of Whisper White, using a template made from the retired Honeycomb Hive Thinlit.
Using the circular Sliding Star Framelit, we cut the sliding track out. It is easier to line up the centre circle if you use the negative piece that you discard, as a placement guide ?
On a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock, we stamped the beehive image from Shooting Star; and stamped both the large bee and small bee on Whisper White cardstock. Using Daffodil Delight and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers, we coloured the bees in before placing them on the card. The card front is held in place using Adhesive Foam Strips.
For the spinner, we used two 5c pieces, held together with a Stampin’ Dimensional, with rounded off edges. The large bee was adhered on top. The card was finished off with sequins, rhinestones, Wink Of Stella, and a light spattering of black ink, using a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Here it is:
For the second card, I wanted to do a ‘galaxy’ style background, but with a less time consuming option than watercolouring. My easy-peasy method uses a mixture of sponging and ‘ink flicking’ ;)
We started off with a card base of Basic Black cardstock. On a card front of Elegant Eggplant, we sponged the edges and random spots, with Night Of Navy ink. Once dry, we flicked Whisper White Craft ink on the card front, using an Aqua Painter. This was then followed by a sprinkling of Wink Of Stella, by lightly tapping the nib of the WOS pen on our finger.
The track was cut using the curvy track Framelit. Using the same method as the previous card, we adhered the card front to the base using Adhesive Foam Strips. Two 5c pieces were stuck together with a Stampin’ Dimensional, and then we adhered the paper aeroplane image, which had been stamped on Whisper White.
The world image was stamped and heat embossed on Watercolour Paper, using Versamark and Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. This was then coloured with Cucumber Crush and Tempting Turquoise ink, using Aqua Painters. A banner stamped with a sentiment in Memento Black, was adhered ontop, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The card was then finished off with rhinestones. Here it is:
Thank you for popping in to have a look at our creations. I hope it has provided you with some inspiration to have a play with this bundle. ‘Til next time x
