Hello again! I’m back to show you what we made in our card class this fortnight – Shaker cards! Have you ever played with this technique? It adds a whole new dimension to hand made cards…and your recipient won’t be able to stop shaking it! :)
I found THIS PIN on Pinterest, and I wanted to use it as inspiration for the first card.
We started with a card base of thick Whisper White. The card front was die cut using Circle Framelits, and on the back, a piece of Window Sheet was adhered using Glue Dots. Once the Window Sheet was in place, we used the Adhesive Foam Strips, and wound them around the circle cut-out. After this, we scattered an assortment of sequins in the centre, and sealed it up with another piece of Whisper White cardstock.
The card was finished off with some balloons, stamped and punched using Balloon Celebration and Baloon Builder punch. A label of Basic Black cardstock was stamped with a sentiment using Versamark, and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
Of course, how could I forget my trademark sequins and Basic Rhinestones to finish off the card? Oh, and some Wink Of Stella on the balloons ;)
For the second card, I used Stampin’ Up! for inspiration. The card that inspired me, can be found on page 74 of the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue.
We used a card base of Mint Macaron for this one. On a card front of Mint Macaron, we diecut the medium jar from the Everyday Jar Framelit set. The card front was stamped with a leaf stamp from Jar Of Love, using Mint Macaron ink.
Following the same process as the first card, we adhered Window Sheet on the back of the card front, stuck down the adhesive foam strips, and scattered hearts and sequins in the shaker window. The hearts were punched out of Watermelon Wonder cardstock using the heart from the Owl Builder punch; and the sequins were pulled from the Gold Sequin Trim.
The back of the shaker window was stamped with a sentiment using Versamark, and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
The card was finished off with co-ordinating flowers and leaf stems; and a label stamped with a sentiment, and also heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A lid for the jar was also heat embossed with the gold embossing powder.
Thank you for popping in to have a look at our creations this fortnight. ‘Til next time! x
