Hello again! I’m taking part in a blog hop today, hosted by Kelly Kent and her Paper Adventures team. When Kelly asked me to be a guest designer for her team blog hop, I jumped at the chance to be involved with such talented ladies :)
For this hop, the theme is a ‘red, white & blue’ colour combo – using Night Of Navy, Dapper Denim, Whisper White, Real Red and/or Cherry Cobbler. I chose to use Dapper Denim and Cherry Cobbler as my blue and red.
I started with a card base of Dapper Denim, and layered a card front of Dapper Denim which I had stamped and heat embossed with a texture image from Touches Of Texture. These were then sponged to add depth, and around the edge, I drew faux stitching with a Stampin’ Chalk Marker.
On a small oval of Whisper White, cut with Stitched Shapes Framelits, I stamped the strongman image from Guy Greetings with Dapper Denim ink. It was then adhered to the card over a strip of Dapper Denim ribbon, Burlap Trim, and some loops of Linen Thread. The Dapper Denim ribbon I used is retired, but you could use Striped Grosgain Ribbon in Dapper Denim instead.
On Cherry Cobbler card, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Guy Greetings. This was adhered above the strongman oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Enamel Shapes in Dapper Denim finished the card.
Thank you for popping in to have a look at my creation. A big thanks to Kelly for inviting me to be part of her hop. Now it’s onto the next blog – the very talented Kristel from Secretly Scrapbooking. Click the Next button below to continue. ‘Til next time x
