Hello again! Welcome back to another Just Add Ink challenge. This week (#JAI510), we are playing with Fancy Folds. This could be a card or a box project – I chose to make a Tri Fold Shutter Card, with help from Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts on YouTube.
Dawn’s tutorial is in imperial measurements, which I had to convert to metric for my purposes. I wanted a minimal margin around my card mats (I prefer a max of 3mm/0.3cm), and I was using the retired Stampin’ Trimmer. You may get different results from the newer Paper Trimmer, so please bear that in mind.
Please note the measurements below are what worked for me under the conditions I had above, so I strongly suggest you watch Dawn’s tutorial for a visual guide, and test my conversions on scrap paper BEFORE cutting into some lovely cardstock. Click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
The cardstock I used for my base was Soft Suede, followed by Crumb Cake for the second layer, and Come Sail Away DSP for the final layer. To decorate the card, I used a vellum circle, a lighthouse image from Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack, and seaweed diecuts sponged with Mossy Meadow ink.
I cut a rope diecut from Crumb Cake card using Smooth Sailing Dies. A label of Mossy Meadow was heat embossed with a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings. This was layered over a few loops of Mossy Meadow Bakers Twine.
The card was finished off with some copper sequins.
Thank you for popping in to have a look at my creation. Don’t forget to pop over to Just Add Ink to take part in #JAI510 too.
‘Til next time x
