Hello and welcome back to another year of Just Add Ink challenges! This year, we are kicking off with a ‘Just Add Something New’ blog hop involving the whole design team. You may have arrived from the amazing Jan McQueen or you may have started here. Either way, we have a fantastic blog hop planned for you – so let’s go!
I decided to use the gorgeous new Butterfly Gala bundle, and the co-ordinating Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration; to create a card and framed decor piece.
For the card, I used Very Vanilla cardstock. I gave it a vintage feel by sponging the edges of the card front with Sahara Sand ink on a sponge dauber.
I cut a circle of Botanical Butterfly DSP, vellum, and Basic Black cardstock. On the Basic Black card, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
I also used Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheets (from Sale-A-Bration), Black Metallic Thread, and Iridescent Sequins to finish off the card.
For the framed decor, I used the Botanical Butterfly DSP, overlaid some vellum, and used the same layering as my card. I found the frame at my local Reject Shop – it had the perfect vintage look I was after.
To finish it off, I cut some butterflies from the DSP, using the co-ordinating punch. This punch honestly makes short work of cutting out the gorgeous butterfles on the DSP :)
Thankyou for popping in to have a look at my creations. Now it’s off to the gorgeous Nikki Spencer to see what amazing creations she has come up with. Click the ‘Next Blog’ button below to continue the hop.

Such a beautiful way to use the butterfly DSP and coordinating products! That vintage frame is a total find! Happy New Year Rachael! Kelly x
the foil sheets are really pretty and make a great accent here. the dsp is gorgeous, and of course, so are both of your projects! :)
I think I go through as much sahara sand ink as I do crumb cake, which is a LOT! :D I buy multiples of both reinkers when I purchase them. they are perfect for making anything shabby or for distressing.
thank you for the inspiration!
Such a pretty layout for this card. I love the soft and dreamy feel you created with the paper choice and vellum and just a touch of sponging.
