I decided to sit down a few days ago and have a play with a really cute stamp set from the 2012 Holiday Catalogue, called Color Me Christmas – and what a fun this set is, especially with Blendabilities! :)

Color Me Christmas

I thought these would make some gorgeous gift tags, so I set out to make a 12pk box – 3 of 4 designs (I didn’t use the stocking!).

I cut my Whisper White cardstock to 5.1cmx9.5cm (2″x3-3/4″) and used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to round the top of the tag.

Using Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities, I started working on Santa’s suit and his candy cane. I then used the Ivory pen from the Skin Tones Blendabilities pack, and coloured in Santa’s legs, face and hands.

Now, I’m the type of blender that starts with the darkest Blendabilities pen, working my way to the lightest; but if you’re a beginner, start with the lightest, then add shadowing with your medium and darkest pens, then finish by blending all over with the lightest pen.

Moving onto the tree tag, I used the Old Olive Blendabilites, and the darkest pen from the Coastal Cabana, Rich Razzleberry, and Melon Mambo Blendabilities packs. I punched a star from the Silver Glimmer Paper, using the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.

On the back of the tags, I used one of the stamps from the Merry Everything stamp set in the current Holiday Catalogue. This particular stamp has a border, but by colouring with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, I was able to omit the border for the simple ‘To’ and ‘From’.

And here they are! The tags are now complete, with a touch of ribbon, tied off with a cute little bow from the 1/8″ Silver ribbon, and 1/8″ Gold ribbon in our Annual Catalogue.

Hope this has inspired you! :)
