Hello again! It’s been so long since I took part in a Global Design Project challenge, but since coming back from OnStage, I am fired up with creativity and ready to go!

GDP82inbetween lineThis week’s challenge, #GDP082, is a sketch challenge, using the layout above. I saw this and thought instantly about flipping the layout to a landscape orientation, then reversing it so the greeting and label were on the right. So, starting with a card base of Kraft Cardstock (which is retiring – grab it while stocks last!), I layered it with a piece of thick Whisper White cardstock, which had been stamped along the bottom with Crumb Cake ink using an image from Better Together; then splattered with ink from a Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write marker.

On Watercolor Paper, I stamped and heat embossed the peony rose image from Birthday Blooms, using Versamark and White Stampin;’ Emboss Powder. This was then watercoloured with Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Blushing Bride, and Wild Wasabi ink, using Aqua Painters. After it was dry, I gave it a wash of clear Wink Of Stella, for a subtle shimmer. You could also use Shimmer White cardstock (which is great for watercolouring), but as I only wanted subtle shimmer, I stuck with Watercolor Paper. The whole image was fussy cut using Paper Snips.

IMG_1471On a banner of Basic Black cardstock, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment using Versamark and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. This was then trimmed to shape. All elements were then stuck to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

IMG_1470The inside of the card was stamped with sentiment using Memento Black, and with the same image used along the bottom of the card front. Ink was also splattered across the card inner and envelope, using Sahara Sand ink. Linen Thread finished the card off. Here it is:
