Hello again! I’ve been itching to get back into my card making (it’s been a long few weeks since I packed everything up to move house!), and I thought taking part in this week’s Global Design Project challenge, would be the perfect opportunity to get back into it.

This week’s challenge is a colour combo – Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum, and Basic Black. I love these colours separately, but I have not used them together yet. I’ll be honest, it’s not a combo I would have thought to put together, so thank you to the GDP team for the creative challenge. Here goes!

inbetween lineFor my creation, I decided to do a Xmas card with a modern twist. Starting with a 10.5×29.7cm card base (folded in half) of Sweet Sugarplum, I stamped the front of the card with a sentiment from Stitched With Cheer, using Sweet Sugarplum ink. I toned down the intensity of the ink by stamping off on my Grid Paper before stamping on the cardstock.

On an 8x12cm piece of Fancy Frost DSP, I lightly sponged with Sweet Sugarplum ink, and tore the top and bottom edges off. This was then glued to the card front using Tombow (Multipurpose Liquid Glue). On a piece of Basic Black cardstock, I stamped a sentiment from Stitched With Cheer, using Versamark; then heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the large wreath image from Wondrous Wreath using Emerald Envy ink. Using Versamark, I then stamped the overlay leaf image. This was then heat embossed using Heat & Stick Powder, and Emerald Envy Glitter Emboss Powder. The berry overlay was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum ink, and then the whole wreath image was cut out using the co-ordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits.

This wreath was then adhered ontop of the Fancy Frost DSP on the card front, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Basic Black banner was also adhered to the wreath using dimensionals. The inside of the card was stamped with a sentiment using Memento ink, and a hint of the same wreath on the bottom left corner.

A few Fancy Frost sequins finished off the card. Here’s the finished creation!

Thank you for popping in to have a look at my creation, and I hope you will give this Global Design Project challenge a go too! ‘Til next time x
