Hello again! It’s been awhile since I created a card for the Global Design Project challenges, and I’ve been itching to get back into playing along!
This week’s challenge was Love. Easy enough to draw on inspiration, I think, when you have a husband who encourages your love of all things paper, and tries not to roll his eyes or look bored when you talk about this stamp set, that Framelit set, those ribbons, etc…. ;)
My card is a fairly clean and simple one – just the way I like it.
I started with a card base of Crumb Cake, stamped all over with the “…it’s in the air” stamp from Bloomin’ Love, using Versamark to create a watermark effect. I’m all about watermarking right now; it’s my favourite technique to play with.
I then diecut the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit from Love Blossoms DSP – when you cut the heart, be sure to use the Precision Base Plate and Magnetic Platform, or it may not cut cleanly.
I then layered some small flowers from the Thinlits set ontop of the heart, using Whisper White cardstock. A few pearls in the centre of the flowers finished them off.
On a small banner of Whisper White, I stamped the “Love You” stamp and heart stamp with Blushing Bride, and went over the stamped writing with Wink Of Stella, to give a subtle glitter effect to the card. That little squiggle inside the heart? It was done with a Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker ;)
Here’s the finished card:
Thanks for stopping by! I hope I’ve left you with some inspiration. ‘Til next time x
