Hello again! Welcome back for another ESAD Blog Hop – this time, myself and 25 other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from Australia & NZ, are taking part to give you a sneak peek at the upcoming 2017-18 Annual Catalogue. You’ve most likely arrived from the super talented Libby Dyson; but if you started here, click the Next Blog button at the bottom of the post to continue with the hop :)
For my projects, I decided to create a card and a home decor piece, using a few new products – the Colorful Seasons stamp set and a new In Color, Lemon Lime Twist. My initial thoughts of Lemon Lime Twist were…yuk! I hated it! But after I used it on these blog hop projects, I was won over. It’s such a fun colour, and it’s so bright and happy to use :)
I created a simple watercoloured card using a card base of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. This was layered with a piece of Watercolor Paper that had been given a wash of Lemon Lime Twist ink using an Aqua Painter. This was then flicked with ink from a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, and stamped with the cherry blossom 2-step images from Colorful Seasons; using Memento Black ink.
A scribble shape was cut from Whisper White card using Swirly Scribbles Framelits, and glued to the card. On a banner of Basic Black, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment using Versamark and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The end was torn for a bit of distress. A strip of Silver Glimmer Paper was also torn off on the end and glued in place on the card, with the banner secured above using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The inside of the card and the envelope were stamped with cherry blossom images, and sponged with Lemon Lime Twist ink; then flicked with Basic Black ink. The card was finished off with sequins and rhinestones.
For the second part of the project, I created a home decor piece. I copied the layout of my card, but this time in a bigger scale – just under an A5 size.
Instead of using Silver Glimmer Paper under the sentiment banner, I used gorgeous new In Color ribbon in Lemon Lime Twist, and ruffled it slightly, using a Glue Dot to secure the ribbon half inch or so. Once the project was finished, I attached it to an chalkboard easel I had lying around, from an old Stampin’ Up! project kit. You could possibly replicate this by gluing a clip to a double sided chalkboard, like this one from Kmart.
Here are the finished projects:
Thanks for popping in to check out my creations – now it’s off to the amazing Josie Dean! Click the Next Blog button below to continue the hop. ‘Til next time x
