17883756_10207836065094480_1315720023750248456_nThis fortnight’s challenge is a colour challenge, using the image above. I found this one a bit difficult for me, mainly because I don’t tend to use pastel tones a lot; but I wanted to take myself out of my comfort zone ;)

I started with a card base of Whisper White thick cardstock. On a piece of Watercolor Paper, slightly smaller than the card front; I sponged the edges with Tip Top Taupe ink, gave it a wash of Pink Pirouette, and splattered it with Tip Top Taupe ink from a Stampin’ Write Marker once the watercolouring was dry. This piece was then glued to the card front.

Using Bloomin’ Love, I stamped flowers and leaves on the card inner and envelope, using Mint Macaron, Pink Pirouette, and Daffodil Delight ink. A heart was cut from Mint Macaron cardstock using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits die; and the co-ordinating flowers were stamped and diecut using Pink Pirouette and Daffodil Delight inks and cardstock.

IMG_1477The heart was then stuck to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the flowers were glued in place, then a Basic Pearl was stuck in the centre of the flowers. A sentiment from Birthday Blooms was stamped on the card front and card inner using Tip Top Taupe.

Here is the finished card:
